Our Community Bikes

From conception to operation, Andy co-created Our Community Bikes! (OCB), a full-service nonprofit bike shop. Winning the Vancity Environmental grant, they bought and renovated a small bike shop. Over 30 years later, OCB still sells refurbished bikes and assists customers to fix their own bicycles.

Key to success: Experiential research: Andy and his partner visited 6 similar social enterprises before developing proposals.

Notable accomplishments: The VanCity Environmental Award, and a three decade legacy.
